I just signed a contract for my series. It's incredibly exciting, but it's also life-changing.
What I've dreamed of has finally happened: I've found a publisher who wants to publish my series. After handling more rejections than I care to count, I finally have a publishing home where my work is both valued and supported. I signed with Sands Press, and I'm already impressed by their dedication and enthusiasm for helping me with this stage of my career. It's incredible, and after the shock wore off, I wondered what's next?
I got to work.
After the contract was signed, my book was assigned to an editor, the fabulous Laurie Carter. Over the next 1-2 months, we'll be working on fine-tuning my manuscript into the finished product. I can't wait to see Laurie to take my work and make it shine.
While we're busy in the editorial process, Sands Press will be sourcing my cover art. I'm so excited to see what my book will look like, and I'm confident they'll find a cover that does justice to my story. I can't wait until this happens!
On my end, I'm creating a new website where you're reading this now. I'm making sure to provide the kind of content I think you'd want to see. There will be a place for each of my books, as well as links to my other work. You'll be able to read reviews, leave reviews yourself, check out my other work, and follow my progress.
I'm also busy considering locations for my launch party, although it's months away. I'm looking at places where I might be able to offer readings and book signings, and I'm sharing the news of my publication across social media. I'm also talking to some early readers about leaving reviews, so that you know what my work is all about.
It's a busy time, but it's the best kind of busy.
I still don't know if I've fully absorbed how much my life is changing, but I know I'm grateful for it. I've spent the last few years devoted to my work. I've believed in it, my readers have believed in it, and now Sands Press believes in it, too. I'm excited to share my work with you, and I'll have more updates as the journey unfolds. Thanks for being here!
